OCD

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder torments gentle, fun, loving people with the ironic belief that they may be a monster.

What if I'm dangerous? Immoral? Contaminated? Living in a simulation? A different gender/sexual orientation? What if things aren't just right or I have a terrible illness?

OCD Therapy

Inference-based CBT

I-CBT is a research-backed therapy for OCD that helps clients understand how OCD hijacks the reasoning process that gives rise to the OCD doubts from the start. By learning how to resolve the inferential confusion in OCD, we learn to see compulsions as irrelevant.

with ADHD and/or Autism

Knowing and accepting onself is an important part of OCD recovery. Given the higher prevalence of OCD in ADHD/autistic folks, it's important to be aware of neurodivergence (often undiagnosed) so we don't try to "therapy away" what makes you uniquely you.

Justice-based, personalized ERP

Exposure-response prevention is effective at breaking the obsessive-compulsive cycle and helping the brain to learn new responses to intrusive thoughts. Our approach to ERP is values-based and affirming.

with Trauma

OCD and trauma are often both present. Instead of referring to another proivder, we are equipped to work with both, often gently moving back and forth between OCD therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the course of therapy.

Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs)

Skin-picking, hair-pulling, biting the inside of the mouth, nail-biting, nose-picking, etc. These are repetitive, self-grooming behaviors that can be very hard to control. We use the multifaceted approach of Comprehensive Behavioral treatment (ComB) to increase awareness and rechannel your energy.
