About Me

Hello! I’m Ryan Robertson; I am an Associate Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider (ALPC-MHSP) with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My approach combines scientific rigor with warmth, collaboration, and genuine respect for your lived experience. I work with adults, teens, couples, and families, and I tailor therapy to fit your goals, strengths, and the full context of what you are carrying.

I specialize in neurodivergence and co-occurring concerns such as OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and substance use. My work is affirming, individualized, and grounded in evidence-based care. Together, we will build a clearer understanding of what is happening, identify practical treatment goals, and use strategies that support meaningful, lasting change.

OCD

OCD can become exhausting when intrusive doubts, fear, and compulsive patterns start taking over your time, energy, and peace of mind. In therapy, we work to understand the thought patterns and rituals that keep OCD going, while building a new relationship with uncertainty.

My approach to OCD includes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT). Treatment is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on helping you loosen OCD’s grip so you can move through life with more freedom and confidence.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression can affect far more than mood. They can impact motivation, concentration, sleep, confidence, relationships, and your ability to feel like yourself. Therapy can help make those patterns more understandable and more workable.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Neurocounseling (NC), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help you identify what is keeping you stuck, strengthen coping skills, and create realistic forward movement. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and connected to the life you want to build.

ADHD & Autism

If you are navigating ADHD, autism, or both, support should be built around how your brain actually works. Standard advice often falls short when it ignores executive functioning, sensory needs, overwhelm, burnout, or the effort it takes just to get through the day.

I provide customized treatment plans for neurodivergence that integrate CBT, Neurocounseling, and executive function coaching support. Together, we can work on practical systems, emotional regulation, follow-through, communication, and day-to-day strategies that are realistic, sustainable, and matched to your needs.

Trauma

Trauma can shape the way you think, feel, trust, sleep, and respond to stress. It may show up as hypervigilance, avoidance, emotional numbness, shame, or feeling like your body and mind never fully settle.

My trauma work includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Therapy focuses on helping you make sense of what you have been through, reduce trauma-driven patterns, and build a stronger sense of safety, stability, and agency.

Insomnia

When sleep is off, everything can feel harder. Trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting restful sleep can intensify stress, affect concentration, and make it harder to cope during the day.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to target the patterns that keep sleep problems going. Our work will focus on helping you build more reliable sleep, reduce sleep-related frustration and anxiety, and improve overall daytime functioning.

Substance Use

Substance use concerns rarely exist in isolation. They are often tied to stress, trauma, mood, relationships, coping, and the need for relief when life feels overwhelming.

I use CBT, Neurocounseling, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients better understand their patterns, strengthen motivation for change, and develop healthier ways of coping. My approach is respectful, nonjudgmental, and focused on helping you create lasting progress.

Couples & Families

Relationships can become strained when stress, conflict, parenting challenges, or communication breakdowns start to repeat. Therapy can help create more clarity, more structure, and more effective ways of working through those patterns together.

For couples, I use the Gottman Method (GM) to improve communication, reduce conflict, and strengthen connection. For families, I provide Family Therapy and Parent Management Training (PMT) to support healthier dynamics, clearer expectations, and more effective responses to behavioral concerns. My goal is to help couples and families build a stronger foundation of understanding, consistency, and support.
