About Me
Hello! I’m Abigail Jones, and I provide therapy for adults who want care that is warm, affirming, creative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. My approach is collaborative and individualized, which means we work together to understand what you’re carrying, what is keeping you stuck, and what kind of support feels most useful for your healing, nervous system, relationships, and daily life.
I aim to make therapy feel comfortable, supportive, and paced in a way that respects your lived experience. Whether you’re navigating OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, insomnia, chronic illness, dissociation, identity-related stress, personality-related patterns, self-harm, or everyday overwhelm, we’ll focus on helping you feel more connected to yourself, more capable in your day-to-day life, and more able to blossom into the person you deserve to be.
OCD
OCD can be exhausting, isolating, and difficult to explain to others. Intrusive thoughts, uncertainty, avoidance, and compulsive behaviors can take up tremendous mental and emotional energy, even when part of you knows the fear may not fully match the situation. In therapy, we work to understand the OCD cycle and build skills that help you respond differently to intrusive thoughts and urges.
My work with OCD may include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT). Treatment is collaborative, compassionate, and paced with care, while still helping you reduce avoidance, loosen the grip of compulsions, and move toward the life you want.
Anxiety & Depression
Anxiety and depression can affect your energy, motivation, relationships, self-worth, sleep, and ability to feel present. You may feel overwhelmed, shut down, disconnected, constantly on edge, or caught in patterns that are hard to change on your own. Therapy can help you better understand what is happening internally and develop more flexible ways to cope.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness self-compassion, Brainspotting, and creative or experiential approaches when helpful. Our work will focus on helping you feel steadier, more supported, and less alone in what you are carrying.
ADHD & Autism
For neurodivergent clients, daily life can become especially difficult when the world expects you to function in ways that do not match your brain, body, or sensory system. ADHD and autism can affect attention, planning, emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, burnout, masking, relationships, and self-esteem, particularly when they overlap with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, or chronic illness.
I offer customized treatment plans for neurodivergence that are practical, affirming, and centered on how you actually function. My work may include CBT, DBT, ACT, neurodiversity-affirming therapy, Brainspotting, somatic strategies, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness self-compassion, and executive-function support to help with structure, overwhelm, self-understanding, communication, routines, and sustainable ways of moving through daily life.
Trauma
Trauma can live in both the mind and body. It may show up as hypervigilance, panic, shame, emotional numbness, dissociation, intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, relationship difficulties, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. Therapy can help you process what happened at a pace that feels safe while building more stability, choice, and connection in the present.
My trauma work incorporates Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic approaches, expressive arts, Prolonged Exposure, Written Exposure Therapy, ACT, CBT, mindfulness self-compassion, and other trauma-focused practices. I focus on helping clients release stored survival energy, strengthen internal resources, and move toward healing without feeling rushed, pushed, or judged.
Insomnia
Sleep problems can make everything harder, including mood, focus, motivation, pain, emotional regulation, and your ability to cope with stress. Insomnia may involve difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, nightmares, dread around bedtime, or feeling like your nervous system cannot fully settle even when you are exhausted.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Brainspotting resource work, and Dreamspotting when nightmares or sleep-related distress are part of the picture. Our work focuses on practical, evidence-based changes while also supporting the nervous system patterns that can keep sleep feeling difficult or unsafe.
Chronic Illness & Pain
Chronic illness and pain can affect far more than physical health. They can change your independence, relationships, identity, energy, mood, body trust, and sense of what is possible. When symptoms are misunderstood or minimized, the emotional impact can become even heavier, especially for neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients navigating systems that may not fully recognize their needs.
My work with chronic illness and pain may include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brainspotting, Bodyspotting, Health at Every Size-informed care, and support informed by hEDS/HSD-related training. Therapy can help you process grief, build coping tools, reconnect with your body, and create a life that honors both your limits and your strengths.
Self-Harm & Suicidal Ideation
Self-harm and suicidal thoughts often develop when emotional pain feels unbearable, inescapable, or impossible to communicate. These experiences can carry shame, fear, and isolation, but they also deserve care that is calm, nonjudgmental, and focused on understanding what the behavior or thoughts are trying to help you survive.
My work in this area may include CBT, DBT, ACT, Brainspotting resource work, somatic approaches, Internal Family Systems-informed work, and emotion-focused strategies. Therapy focuses on increasing safety, strengthening emotional regulation, identifying patterns and triggers, and building more supportive ways to move through distress.
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy
Identity-related stress can affect mental health in deep and complicated ways, especially when clients have experienced rejection, invalidation, discrimination, family conflict, religious trauma, or pressure to hide parts of themselves. Therapy can provide a space where your identity is not treated as the problem, but as an important part of understanding your story, relationships, needs, and healing.
I offer LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy that may incorporate Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness self-compassion, and experiential approaches. Our work can support self-understanding, boundaries, relationships, identity exploration, trauma healing, and greater connection to the parts of yourself that deserve acceptance and care.
Dissociation & Dissociative Identity Disorder
Dissociation can be confusing, frightening, or difficult to describe. You may experience memory gaps, emotional distance, feeling unreal or disconnected from your body, shifts in self-states, or a sense that different parts of you hold different feelings, needs, memories, or roles. Therapy can help build safety, communication, grounding, and greater internal cooperation.
My work with dissociation may include somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems-informed work, Brainspotting resource models, and parts-based approaches. Treatment is paced carefully and focuses first on stabilization, resourcing, trust, and helping you feel more present and supported.
Personality Disorders
Personality-related patterns often develop in the context of pain, trauma, attachment wounds, invalidation, or long-standing relational stress. These patterns may involve intense emotions, relationship instability, fear of abandonment, shame, impulsivity, anger, identity confusion, or difficulty trusting yourself and others. Therapy can help these experiences feel more understandable and more manageable.
My work may include DBT, CBT, Schema Therapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment-informed care, Transference-Focused Psychotherapy-informed care, somatic approaches, and Brainspotting. The goal is to support emotional regulation, healthier relationships, self-compassion, boundaries, and a more stable sense of self.
Daily Life Stress
Sometimes therapy is not only about one diagnosis or one specific event. Daily life stress can build through work, school, relationships, creativity, caregiving, identity stress, burnout, spirituality, performance pressure, or simply trying to function in systems that feel overwhelming. Over time, that stress can affect your mood, body, motivation, and sense of connection.
I may use CBT, ACT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, psychodrama-informed work, Brainspotting Expansion Frame, and creative or experiential strategies to help you clarify what matters, reduce overwhelm, and reconnect with your strengths. Our work can focus on practical coping, nervous system support, creativity, identity, meaning, and helping you feel more present in your life.
Therapeutic Dungeons & Dragons
As a Certified Therapeutic Game Master, I also enjoy using Therapeutic Dungeons & Dragons as a creative way to support growth, connection, and self-understanding. Therapeutic gaming can help clients practice communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, identity exploration, social connection, and values-based decision-making in a structured but imaginative space.
This approach can be especially meaningful for clients who connect with gaming, fantasy, roleplay, creativity, or geek culture. It can be used with individuals, couples, or groups depending on fit, goals, and clinical needs.
Related Areas of Support
Some concerns do not fit neatly into one category. Addiction-related patterns, sex and relationship concerns, body image, medical trauma, rejection sensitivity, burnout, spiritual disconnection, and creative blocks often overlap with trauma, neurodivergence, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, or identity-related stress.
When these experiences are part of your story, we can address them with honesty, compassion, and care while staying grounded in your goals. My role is to help you better understand the patterns at work, build tools that fit your life, and support healing in a way that feels collaborative rather than prescriptive.

Good Faith Estimate
Our clients have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" regarding the cost of their care. Under the law, healthcare providers are required to provide patients and/or clients with an estimated cost of goods and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency goods or services. This includes ancillary costs such as medical tests, prescription drugs, consumables, and institutional fees. Your healthcare provider should deliver a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day prior to beginning paid services. If you receive a bill that is more than $400 over your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute.
