HOW CBT-I WORKS
How CBT-I retrains your body to sleep
If you've already tried sleep apps, supplements, and sheer willpower, the missing piece usually isn't more effort — it's a method. Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is that method: the guideline-recommended first treatment for chronic insomnia, and a structured program rather than a list of tips.
Together we reset two things. First, the link between your bed and being awake — by getting you out of bed when sleep won't come and keeping the bedroom for sleep. Second, the timing of sleep itself, using a personalized sleep window that rebuilds your sleep drive and steadies your rhythm. We also quiet the running commentary about sleep that keeps your mind switched on. For Nashville clients, we meet in person at our Elm Hill Pike office or by secure video from home — no long wait for a sleep specialist.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions
Can I see someone in person in Nashville, or online?
Both. ScienceWorks has a Nashville office at 2603 Elm Hill Pike, Suite C, and also offers secure telehealth to clients located in Tennessee. You can come in person or meet your clinician by secure video from home — whichever makes starting easier.
Does CBT-I really beat sleep medication?
For chronic insomnia, yes over time: guidelines recommend CBT-I first because it changes what keeps sleep broken, and its benefits tend to last after treatment, whereas medication mainly helps while you keep taking it.
What does CBT-I cost, and will insurance help?
We review fees and any out-of-network reimbursement before you commit, so there are no surprises. Many clients use FSA or HSA funds or monthly superbills; we'll walk through what applies to you.
